New year 2023 is here. Every year comes with new energies, hopes, aspirations successes and new commitments. But this year it is more special. So what’s so special about 2023? Let’s find out.
The sum total of 2023 comes to number 7. Number 7 is a very special number, it’s a magical number. Here’s how:

In almost all belief systems in the world, the number 7 has special meaning, purpose or value. Every religion has reference to number 7 in many ways. So New Year 2023 becomes a very special year, with lot of positive energy.
New Year 2023 Year Horoscope
The year begins with Ashwini nakshatra. This is the first nakshatra of the zodiac. Moon will be in Aries which is the first sign of the zodiac. Ashwini nakshatra is full of Martian qualities like adventure, daring, impulsive, direct and independent. The Ashwini nakshatra symbol is head of horse – so this year it encourages you to gallop through life with robust energy and lot of courage. It also indicates if you want to begin something, if you want to continue something which you had left, the universe is with you. You will definitely get success in all you endeavours done with right intentions.
Ashwinin nakshatra lord is Ketu which is a Karmik planet. It indicates rather encourages to do the right karma. Ketu indicates our karmas, so this year our karmas, past and present, will have a direct bearing in our lives, so doing the right karmas will have telling effect on us during this whole year. Extra ordinary success and achievements can be achieved this year.
The year begins with Kanya lagna or Virgo ascendant. In New Year chart, the 7th lord Jupiter is placed in own sign in the 7th house, i.e, Kendra bhava, creating Hamsa Mahapurush Yoga, a highly auspicious yoga. This is good for wealth creation, auspicious happenings and all around growth. As said earlier, this is the time to create opportunities, look out for opportunities, for growth and for progress. The year also begins with Saturn, Karmadhipati or the lord of actions, placed in own sign Capricorn in fifth house of Purva Punya or the house of past good deeds. Saturn here is conjunct with Venus, the planet of indulgence/enjoyment, and another karmic planet. Placement of fifth lord Saturn in own fifth house indicates our Karmas are going to have bearing in results. Saturn with Venus combined in the fifth house is activating our karmas this year. Benefic karmas will give all around growth & development, while enduring negative karmas, we would need to surrender completely to the almighty and seek forgiveness.
A negative factor of the beginning of the New Year, is Moon’s placement with Rahu in the eighth house. This combination has not been favoured in any classic in Jyotish. This can give physical troubles and start of disease. So taking care of health and life style becomes prime important this year. But Moon’s placement in Ashwini nakshatra also indicates new breakthroughs in medicine and inventions in this field as Ashwini Kumars are surgeons of the God or the celestial Doctors.
Another negative factor is retrograde Mars placed in the ninth house of dharma in fallen condition. This will give problems in high class, the ruling class or the people we look up to. There can be wrong decisions based on ego or lack of right notions which can affect masses. The only saving grace here is Mars’s placement in Rohini nakshatra belonging to Moon, so ultimately kindness and sympathy will prevail, this year.
New Year 2023 Rare Event
Another very special phenomenon of 2023 is that all the 9 planets of our solar system or Jyotish mandal will change signs or Rashi. This is a very rare occurrence that all 9 planets ranging from Sun to Ketu, all will transit to another sign. This is rare because while the fast moving planets do change sign during the course of year, but the slow moving planets like Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu stays in a sign for more than one year, so ALL of them changing sign is a rare phenomenon, having direct bearing on our lives. This will not only positively affect our fortunes, but also our entire thinking system, our minds!
