Predictive Astrology – Predictive Astrology is also known as Falita Jyotish in Hindi. The Astronomy part of Astrology i.e., the study and position of Planets (Graha) constellations (Nakshatra) is known as Ganita Jyotisha (mathematical astrology) and the cumulative effects of these planets and constellations on living things is known as Falita Jyotisha (Predictive Astrology).
Predictive Astrology has been in existence since time immemorial. Astrology is a part of Veda. It is one of the Shadangas (six limbs) in Vedanga, others being Shiksha, Kalpa, Nirukta, Chhanda and Vyakarna. Jyotish is made of two Sanskrit words – Jyoti means light and Ish meaning God. It is in real terms “The Light of God”.
Astrology is a divine and an ancient science by which an Astrologer guides the seekers through Horoscope predictions and counselling for the different phases of life. Predictive Astrology or Falita jyotish is a scientific study and decoding of the language of the Celestial bodies known as Navagraha. These Celestial bodies are mapped in the form of a Horoscope and the entire process is based on pure astronomy and mathematics. At the time of birth the location of these Navagraha in the Zodiac decides our course of life on Earth.

The science of Predictive Astrology deals with the intricacies of human life. It is a study of our past, present and future life. It is the study of the cumulative effect of all planets in the Zodiac, on a person’s life when he was born and lives his full life span. However, predictive astrology is not fortune telling. It is an exact science as any other science; rather it is a divine science having descended from God itself.
How is predictive astrology a counselling tool?
Now you may ask how it is a counselling tool? Let me explain. An expert and experienced Astrologer can identify and help the seeker using predictive astrology by suggesting the favourable time when one can go full throttle in life, or to take careful/calculated steps during an unfavourable time based on respective horoscope analysis.
As a counselling tool for relationships, predictive astrology can be used for psychological analysis and evaluation of a native to find out the planetary effects. Why a person behaves in a particular way at a particular time? It can be understood that it is the malefic or benefic effect of transiting planets on our thinking and emotions.
We must have seen people doing great in life, also same people going down as well. It must have happened with us also. Why? We are the same person with same capabilities, working environments are more or less same, than what happened? We start to blame ourselves and can get into depression, or we blame others and get frustrated or spoil relations with others. Here, if you study the horoscope and look at your dasha patterns and planetary transits, you can find out the reason is not you, its the time which you are passing through. And it will pass through and you will out of it too.
In studies of children, we see some kids do an easy job with some specific subjects, while other kids struggle or fail to perform in specific subjects. Why? You may say that the intelligence levels or IQ levels are different. Agreed. But there are cases where same level of kids perform differently with different subjects. This can be found out by horoscope analysis that which planets are affecting their houses concerned with studies, and education in that line becomes easy and natural for them.
So these are the ways this great science astrology, can be used as a counselling tool.
What is Kundli or Birth Chart?
Our birth is not random. We were born at a particular time and a particular place to a particular set of parents. Our kundli is precise and specific chart for us, delivering results of our past actions through the quality of Natural Law at the time of our birth. The act of birth imprints these laws by mapping it on our kundli, our physiology and environment we are born.
This is decoding of the language of the Celestial bodies which are mapped in the form of a Horoscope. The planetary positions are merely convenient indicators of those laws, accurate instruments to measure, calculate and interpret these laws.
If it is all destiny, what is free will?
Free will is given to us humans only. Rest all living things are bound by natural requirement of eating, sleeping, defending and reproduction etc., except human beings who has free will and thinking capacity to change things.
Our birth chart reflects what circumstances in this life we expect to experience. As per Shatsras and Vedic treaties, these experiences are results of actions of our previous life times known as Sanchita Karmas (accumulated karmas) which are given to us to enjoy or suffer in this life, to fullfill our Prarabdha (karmas allowed for this life) and to create Agami Karmas (future karmas) by our kriyaamaan karmas or continued actions.
The birth chart is merely a reflection of our stage of evolution at the time of our birth; it does not limit us in any way to grow and improve upon it. Even though horoscope analysis includes a lifetime of dashas and transits, we should realize that all of that remains relative to the evolutionary state at the time of birth which as I said can be improved upon.
Past actions are the result of past choices. When we become aware of our choices and decide which to keep and which to discard, we can change our life by starting to choose differently. New choices will start creating new responses, which will gradually change our circumstances. Reactions and responses from past actions take time to manifest, and remove those karmas.
This is the free will which has been given to us by God and which can change our lives.
